Going away on vacation/business and not sure what to do with your fur baby? Look no further.

The Durban Dog Hotel is not your usual dog boarding service. We are a home away from home that caters for fur babies on our couches and in our beds. Your doggo will have a surrogate mom or dad to care for them throughout their stay and will even share a nice comfy double bed at night with this dog crazy person.

DOGS ARE SEPARATED INTO PACKS ACCORDING TO SIZE AND ENERGY LEVEL.

Dont worry your Toy pom will never bump into a robust great dane.

Our Founder

Sonseirai Van Heerden

Sonseirai is the owner and founder of The Durban Dog Hotel, a 5 star establishment which offers cage free accommodation, doggie daycare and so much more. Sonseirai has studied psychology and dog psychology for a total of over 15 years and possesses 2 degrees. She has integrated over 50 000 dogs into packs and currently has a 100% success rate for behavior modification in her one on one cases.

Sonseirai was placed in the top 5 female entrepreneurs for 2017 and she and her hotel have been featured in over 10 individual newspapers and magazines, including a front page article in the Upper Highway mail.

Sonseirai has a team of collectively over 30 staff and has provided training for each one that has enabled The Durban Dog Hotel to become a radical success.

Sonseirai is married with a son and 8 dogs of her own and she has several rescue dogs in her foster care whilst they wait for their forever homes.

Candice Swanson

Co-Founder

I consider myself a pioneer and entrepreneur who started the Durban Dog hotel with Sonserai.

My vision and approach to leadership has often taken the hotel to new levels.

Through my marketing I have seen the business blossom into what it is today. I have pioneered projects all over the world and have finally settled in my beloved SA.

I am a proud mom and wife to Sonseirai and am greatly excited for the future of the DDH and of our family together

Reece Buys

Behavioral Operations Manager

I'm an avid dog lover and have been part of the DDH team since 2016, who is driven to become a dog behaviorist. I have been working at ddh for 8 years.

Anita Daniels

Hotel Manager

I'm a strong-minded self-motivated individual who have a great passion for animals.

The love and compassion I have for animals and people makes being in management so much more fulfilling. My duties include management of staff, the front of house – seeing in all doggies and check outs, maintaining the high standards and achieving all goals that we at The DDH set out for ourselves and our team, etc.

I'm a passionate person with a strong love for animals. I care mostly for the fragile small doggies.

My main goal is to make every fur baby of mine feels happy, comfy and loved during their stay. I make sure that any and all medical conditions are being checked and that packs are healthy and receiving all medications based on their health care requirements.

I'm the fun & loving administrator. That gives cuddles to all the doggies that visit the office🐶

I will make sure to help you wherever I can. Need to book your fur babies in or just need a quote I can help. I have been doing admin for 8 years. I started working for the Durban Dog Hotel March 2022 and found my dream admin job working with beautiful humans and amazing dog🤗🐕
